What’s In Your Beach Bag?

Memorial Day and the unofficial start to summer is just a little over a week away! And even though it’s hot and sunny almost everyday here at Dreams Resorts & Spas, we get just as excited when the summer months come around. In our eyes, summer means even more beach and pool time and a beach bag filled with all the essentials you could need for a day of soaking up the sun.

Here is a list of items we think should be in everyone’s beach bag.

Flip flops
A beach towel (although if you are staying with us, we provide the beach towels so there is no need to pack one!)
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
An e-Reader or book
An iPod
Snacks–pretzels, peanuts, etc.
Bottled water

A Real Wedding at Dreams Cancun

We’ve got wedding fever at Dreams Resorts & Spas! We just love seeing brides and grooms tie the knot on our properties and with the warm weather continuing through the summer, we have no doubt that more weddings will be taking place. Whale Shark Season at Dreams Cancun is Here!

Whale shark season is upon us!

During the summer months guests of Dreams Cancun Resorts & Spa have the opportunity to take part in a very special tour. The first whale shark snorkeling tour of the season will start today, May 9^th, and continue throughout the summer.

The whale shark tour is provided by Solo Buceo, a reputable marina located right on our property. The tour departs at 7:00 am from the marina, the boat brings up to 10 people about 12 miles off the coast of Cancun in search of whale sharks to feed near the surface. Guests can swim with the whale sharks while snorkeling with other sea creatures. Whale sharks are considered the world’s largest living fish and are friendly in nature towards humans.

Mother’s Day Arts & Crafts

Calling all Dads out there! If your family isn’t visiting Dreams Resorts & Spas for Mother’s Day this year, there’s no need to worry! We’ve got some cute crafts–straight from our Explorer’s Club–that kids can make and give to Mom on her special day.

A Coupon Card: Give mom a coupon for something special–a big hug, a back rub, a homemade dinner from Dad & kids, etc.

Supplies needed:

A piece of construction paper or card stock
A pencil, pen, crayons or markers

Directions:

Fold construction paper into card form and have children write the coupon inside the card then decorate the front. If you’re feeling extra crafty, you can print out a coupon here and place it inside.

Photo Flower Bouquet: These flowers will last all year long and remind Mom how much she’s loved!

Supplies Needed:

Construction paper, various colors
Glue stick
Photos
Scissors
Tape
Green chenille stems, one for each flower

Directions:

Cut photos into circles to be used as the center of the flower.
Cut simple flower shapes out of construction paper.
Glue photo circle to the center of the flower.
Tape chenille stem to the back of your flower. Make sure the tape is secure by pressing onto the tape with your fingernail.
Trim ends of chenille to the length you desire, depending on what you are using as a vase. If making a handheld bouquet, don’t trim the chenille; simply tie a ribbon bow around them all.

Sip, Savor & See Dining Experience

As a way to further enhance the Unlimited-Luxury® concept at Dreams Resorts & Spas, we have launched the all-new Sip, Savor & See Dining Experience program. Sip, Savor & See allows guests staying at one Dreams Resorts & Spas to experience another nearby AMResorts property for dinner and nightly entertainment.

Below is a list of participating resorts. To take advantage of the Sip, Savor & See Dining Experience during your stay, simply speak to the resort concierge upon arrival.

Riviera Cancun/Cancun: Guests of Dreams Cancun, Dreams Riviera Cancun, Dreams Puerto Aventuras and Dreams Tulum have the option to dine at each other’s restaurants as well as Now Jade and Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun. There are 36 dining options total for guests of Dreams in the Mexican Caribbean.

Puerto Vallarta: Guests staying at Dreams Villamagna and Dreams Puerto Vallarta have the option to dine at each other’s restaurants as well as Now Amber. There are 16 dining options total for guests of Dreams in Puerto Vallarta.

Five Fun Facts about Dreams Resorts & Spas

Even though we’re constantly sharing activities, entertainment and recipes with you, we still think there might be a lot you don’t know about us. With that in mind, we thought it would be fun to tell you five lesser-known fun facts about Dreams Resorts & Spas.

Here it goes…

1. Dreams Punta Cana boasts one of the largest free form swimming pools in the Dominican Republic that winds from the lobby all the way down to the beach.

2. Dreams Los Cabos is working towards a greener and healthier planet by implementing the use of a desalinization plant, which reuses ocean water and allows the property to have an independent water supply from the city.

3. The Explorer’s Club at Dreams Tulum is Mayan themed. As kids enter the Mayan Temple they’ll be led into a world of adventure where daily activities are based around nature, science, exploration and creative arts.

4. Dreams Cancun is the only resort in Cancun to have a natural seawater lagoon with dolphins on site. Guests can swim with dolphins four times each day at 9 am, 10:30 am, noon and 1:30 pm.

5. Dreams Puerto Vallarta sits in a secluded cove on one of 40 beaches along Banderas Bay and offers 500 meters of private beach and crystal clear waters.
