A Costa Rica destination wedding inspired another guest to take the next step in his relationship at Dreams Las Mareas! Keep reading for this beautiful story.

Our special WOW Story of the week comes from the stunning destination of Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica!

It was a regular morning at the resort when one of the golf carts was driving by the adults-only pool.  The driver was Pool Concierge Mauricio, who was going to take a bride to the altar of her destination wedding.  On the way back, another guest, Mr. P, had noticed the cheering of the staff greeting the bride and asked Mauricio if he could watch the wedding since he was very excited.  Mauricio kindly escorted him where he could watch the ceremony, and Mr. P was so excited that he told Mauricio that he was going to propose to his girlfriend that very same night!

Immediately Mauricio and Daniel, both Pool Concierges, started a plan to make this proposal an unforgettable story!  They approached the couple who had gotten married that afternoon to congratulate them, and at the same time make them accomplices of the proposal.  They let them know that Mr. P had decided to ask his girlfriend to marry him that same night, partly because of how moved he was by the ceremony.

That afternoon during the wedding’s cocktail hour, a trio of regional Costa Rican calypso musicians had played for the newlyweds. Suddenly, our planners got the idea to have the musicians play a song for the future bride and groom.  The happy couple agreed to send their musicians for five minutes to the Preferred Club and we asked Mr. P to come to the Preferred Club at 6:30 pm.  Mauricio and Daniel also managed to connect with the daughters of his girlfriend via Skype so they could be a part of the moment.  The team set up a table with a nice romantic atmosphere on the terrace of the Preferred Club and a table in the background with a hidden laptop so that her daughters could see everything!

The proposal went off without a hitch at Dreams Las Mareas!

Mr. P’s girlfriend was called to come to the Preferred Club to review their reservation, and the moment she entered, Mr. P got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!  At that exact moment the musicians entered singing her favorite song “SABOR A MI”. With tears in her eyes she said “YES!” The laptop was brought over so that her daughters, who were also crying, could celebrate this immensely happy moment with their mother.  She greeted them and immediately showed them the ring!

Their surprise was even greater when members of different departments came in and formed a human wall while holding letters forming the word CONGRATULATIONS!  The newly engaged couple thanked all the staff members who were present for the time they invested in making this possible, and promised to return so they could have their own wedding at Dreams Las Mareas.
